Dance Imagination is a modern repertory dance company of young people from Burnaby, B.C. with members ranging in age from 7 to 18.  This non-profit organization was founded in 1990 by Chris LePage and Dawn Howey. The dancers work with professional choreographers as well as having the opportunity to choreograph their own pieces.

Their repertoire includes such dances as DAY and NIGHT - two modern dances connecting the light and dark; WHEN YOU’RE AN ADDAMS - a Musical Theatre piece; DRUMMER IN THE CORNER - a modern/jazz dance;  FROM... OM - connecting the divine through contempory movement;  STUDY BREAK - dance helps you get through life;  JAMAICA ME WANNA DANCE - a dance from Jamaica using the style Dancehall;  ECHO, a movement game played with the audience. The concert also includes some audience participation and may be followed by a question and answer period.

Dance Imagination performs at elementary schools around the Lower Mainland area, entertaining and educating school age children.  They also perform at community events like Burnaby’s Discovery Days, Canada Day and New Westminster’s Hyack Festival, at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, local and provincial dance conferences, and have appeared three times at a national dance conference in Seattle with the Kaleidoscope Dance Company.
